Jaipur, popularly known as the Pink City attracts lakhs of tourists from worldwide every year. Bestowed with historical monuments, forts and palaces, Jaipur creates an unforgettable space amidst the minds of her visitors. Usually, after sightseeing trip of any tourist destination, visitors wish to do some shopping. They buy some materials of their choice that particular place and keep them as a memento forever. The city of Jaipur is not an exception, like other tourist destinations here also tourists can indulge themselves in extensive shopping spree.

Jaipur is home to a number of bazaars (markets) which offer handicrafts, jewelleries, clothes, leather goods and several other items. Amongst the markets of Jaipur, Raja Park is the most attractive and conspicuous market. From jewelleries to grocery, textile to tailors, electronics to ethnic collections, you will find everything here.

Jaipur is the famous as the city of precious stone, such as pearls, topazs, diamonds and emeralds. If you want to collect them, visit the city’s Johari Market. Here you will get beautifully designed jewelleries made from precious stones, gold or silver. Besides Johari market, you may visit the shops at Gopaliji Ka Rasta and Haldion Ka Rasta for buying the jewelleries. For textile products and cosmetics, visit the Bapu Bazaar and Nehru Bazaar. Another famous market of Jaipur lies in the MG Road, where you can buy jewelleries, textiles, brass products, marble carvings, miniature paintings etc.

For your convenience I have created a list of Jaipur’s popular market and their specialties. Some of the popular markets of Jaipur include Maniharon Ka Rasta (Lac Bangles), Khajanewalon Ka Rasta (Marble Carving), Saganer Village (Block Printing, Hand-made Paper, Blue Pottery), Kishanpol Bazar (Tie and Dye textiles), Hawa Mahal (Lac Bangles) and Textiles Ramganj Bazar (Leather shoes and Jutis).

In addition to private shops, the State government of Rajasthan runs a number of shops across the Jaipur city. The Rajasthan Government Handicraft Emporium, Handloom House, and Khadi Ghar are noteworthy shopping centres in Jaipur. Hence, if you visit Jaipur, don’t miss the opportunity to shop in the busy lanes of city bazaars, otherwise the enjoyment of your trip to ‘Pink City’ will come to half.
